Couponsez is a coupon marketplace. This page describes what we store, why we store it, and who else sees it. It is written from the product rather than from a template, so where it names a specific behaviour, that is the behaviour the site has today.
What we collect
When you create an account: your name, email address, a hashed password, and an optional profile image. We never store your password itself.
When you use the site: the deals you save to your wishlist, and the location you choose from the location picker. The location is a city or ZIP code you type or select — we do not read your device GPS, and the header pill always shows the location currently in effect.
When you list a business: your storefront name, description, website, category and address, plus the coupons you submit. All of this is published deliberately and is public once approved.
Aggregate counts: how many times a coupon was clicked, copied or marked as redeemed. These are totals attached to the coupon, not a per-person history.
Cookies
Two cookies matter. A session cookie keeps you signed in; deleting it signs you out. A location cookie remembers the city or ZIP you picked so the feed is filtered correctly in the first response rather than jumping after load. Neither is used for advertising.
Who else receives your data
We use a small number of processors, each for one job:
- Neon hosts the database that everything above is stored in.
- Resend delivers transactional email — verification, password resets, and notices about your merchant submissions. Your email address is shared with them for that purpose only.
- Stripe handles merchant subscription billing. Card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers or our database; we store only your subscription status.
- Google Analytics measures traffic, and Google reCAPTCHA protects the sign-up and contact forms from automated abuse. Both are subject to Google’s own privacy terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Affiliate links
Some coupons on this site link to a retailer through an affiliate network, and we may earn a commission if you buy something after following one. Those links carry a tracking identifier that tells the network the click came from us. The network — not Couponsez — decides what it records about the visit, under its own policy. Following an affiliate link never costs you more than going to the retailer directly.
Deleting your account
Email support@couponsez.com from the address on the account and we will delete it. Deleting an account removes your profile, your sessions and your saved deals.
One thing survives deletion, and it is worth stating plainly: coupons and storefronts you published stay published, with the account link removed. They are part of the public catalogue that other people are using, and withdrawing them retroactively would break pages other sites have linked to. If you want a specific listing taken down as well, say so in the same email and we will remove it.
Questions
Write to support@couponsez.com, or use the form on the Help Centre.
This page is a plain-language description of how Couponsez actually works, written from the product itself. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not legal advice. If you need a policy that satisfies a specific regulation — GDPR, CCPA, or a payment processor’s onboarding review — have counsel review this text before relying on it.
